Day 1
Discover the Heart of Barcelona. When you arrive, head straight to La Rambla, the city’s most famous street. Here you’ll find street entertainers, a market, shops, and lots more. Be sure to stop at the Boqueria Market to sample some of the local treats, ham, and fresh fruit juices. In the afternoon, take a walk around the Gothic Quarter with its narrow streets and ancient buildings – it’ll make you feel as though you’ve stepped back in time.
Day 2
Art and Architecture Spend your second day in Barcelona at the Sagrada Familia. Designed by Gaudí, this astonishing church is a must-see. Although there will probably be crowds waiting to get in (there always are), it’s probably worth the queue. Afterwards, make your way to Parc Güell for a walk around its colorful mosaics and sculptures. Then in the evening, investigate El Born: it’s GREAT shops and bars. If you like craft, you could also visit the Picasso Museum.
Day 3
The Beach and Relaxing. Barcelona contains some great beaches; spend a third day there. Barceloneta Beach is a good choice – it’s SOFT sand and CLEAN sea (plus there are water sports on offer if you feel adventurous). When you’re tired of sunbathing, take a stroll around Port Vell; there are yachts and boats to admire as well as places to eat. Seafood is especially good.
Day 4
Day Trip to Montjuïc. Take the cable car up Montjuïc Hill for stunning views over Barcelona, plus there’s the Montjuïc Castle and some lovely auditoriums. Don’t forget to visit Poble Espanyol, an open-air museum that shows examples of Spanish architecture from all over the country. In the evening, see the Magic Fountain of Montjuïc Light and Music show for a spectacular end to your time in Barcelona. Things to Remember: Wear comfortable shoes. Carry a bottle of water with you, especially in the summer months. Your 4 days in Barcelona will be memorable! You’ll explore amazing places, eat DELICIOUS food, and experience the VIBRANT manners. Get ready for an adventure!
