It’s not hard to see why so many people fall in love with Aruba after one visit. If you’ve never been, we guarantee it sounds like a PERFECT place to go and lie on some sunny white sand beaches, doesn’t it? And there’s more than that too: plenty of things to do and see, if you like. So whether you’re after a quiet holiday by the sea or want to try something different every day, this little island has something for everyone. Aruba is full of interesting things to see and do! From AMAZING underwater experiences with colorful fish to adrenaline-pumping off-road adventures through rugged terrain, there’s an activity for all tastes.
What to do
Baby Beach is one of the best places for snorkeling. It’s SHALLOW and CALM, so it’s perfect for all ages, and the water is filled with bright fish. If you enjoy nature, then Arikok National Park is a GREAT place to visit. It’s hiking trails through the desert and some HIDDEN caverns too — if you explore them with a guide, they can tell you lots about their history.
How long to stay
It depends on what you want from your trip. For a time by the sea, four or five days is long enough, but if you like adventure, you might want to spend a week. Here are some important things to remember when visiting Aruba: the sun is very strong, so use plenty of sunscreen! Remember to bring your camera to make beautiful memories. And don’t leave without “keshi yena,” a local cheese dish.
December is a WONDERFUL time to be in Aruba. The sun shines, but it’s not too hot, the nights are COOL — and there’s a SPECIAL atmosphere because it’s Christmas. There are lots of other places you could go instead; for example, why not compare Aruba with Belize? Aruba is better if you want beaches and water, but Belize has jungles and ancient ruins. Or you could compare Aruba with Puerto Rico. If you want a quiet beach holiday, Aruba is a good choice, but Puerto Rico has more type with mountains as well as beaches, plus a rich culture. No trip to Aruba is complete without these top attractions: the natural pool (a rock pool) and a visit to the California Lighthouse for STUNNING views of the island. Have fun!
